Undress is coming back

After a three-year break, we are thrilled to announce that we are returning to the Australian fashion scene with a 3-day sustainable fashion event. Touring Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane across 2019/2020, Undress is back in action.

Kicking off in a repurposed textile factory in Coburg, Melbourne on the 22nd-24th of November, we will be debuting a new 3-day program including a full-day conference, our flagship runway show and a cultural day.

We have stepped up our game this year, attracting international keynotes speakers such as Maxine Bedat of New Standard Institute, Dominique Drakeford of Melanin.ASS, and Australia’s very own Natalie Isaacs of 1 Million Women.

The line-up is impressive, here’s the breakdown…

Undress Your Mind is a full-day conference exploring initiatives within the creative industries that work towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

Undress Runways is the flagship sustainable fashion runway show.

Undress Showroom is a day to celebrate creative activism; art exhibitions, live music, slam poets, food trucks and ethical designer activations.

Edda Hamar, our CEO & Co-Founder, and United National Young Leader for the Sustainable Development Goals, is determined to create an event that inspires action for the climate emergency and equips the fashion industry with tools and insight to make lasting change.

“We are going beyond celebrating the aesthetic of fashion and making space for important discussion on sustainability, ethics, diversity & inclusion, the climate crisis and tech innovation. These are the key challenges we need to address to ensure a future for the fashion industry”, said Ms Hamar.

From humble beginnings in 2011, Undress Runways was born out of a pop-up runway show in a Brisbane car park. Undress has since developed into a national sustainable fashion event on a mission to accelerate humanity towards a respectful relationship with clothing. We are a creative crew, dedicated to transforming the fashion industry.

Popping up in a nearby warehouse, sparking important conversations and showcasing progressive fashion design, Undress is creating an atmosphere for change.

To contribute the conversation and go beyond the surface of the fashion industry, join us when the Undress Runways tour hits your city.
