There are many people involved in Undress Runways that are essential to make it work. One group in particular are our models, the faces of Undress, whom the runway would be impossible without. We sat down with a few of our chief models and asked them about their careers.

Nyamuoch

How did you get into modelling?
I love taking photos and being in front of the camera so that was one thing that got me in to wanting to be a model. I started doing beauty pageants and fashion shows etc. at the age of 18 but it wasn't until I was 23 when I got contacted by a modelling agency and was signed with them.

What’s your favourite part of the job?
My favourite part of the job would be, meeting new people and being in front of the camera but most importantly being part of the fashion industry.

What do you think about sustainable fashion?
I think sustainable fashion is about creating clothes that are going to last and will not damage the environment we live in. Sustainable fashion is better for the Earth and for the people.

Where do you want your career to be in 5 years?
I want my modelling career to take me to places much higher in the next 5 years and do runway modelling. But modelling won’t last forever so I’m also working on my personal career goal.

Three things you can’t live without?

1. Family
2. Music
3. Chocolate

How would you describe Undress in 3 words?
Unique Sustainable fashion

Chris

How did you get into modelling?
Ryan (our Art Director) invited me to the undress casting call in 2014. A few months later I was scouted on the undress runway by a photographer - the rest is history.

What’s your favourite part of the job?
Promoting ethical designers that I have a strong affiliation with.

What do you think about sustainable fashion?
To me, sustainable fashion promotes a more environmentally, socially, and ethically concious production and consumption of apparel. While sustainable fashion remains in an infancy stage, I believe the industry has the potential to showcase sustainable textiles, lead innovation, and promote corporate responsibility.

Where do you want your career to be in 5 years?
In five years time I aim to host a television program with a close friend, produce a syndicated radio show to cover issues in the media that have been reported poorly by mainstream outlets, and continue my work supporting The Shake It Up Foundation - a non-profit organisation that raises money for Parkinson's disease research.

Three things you can’t live without?
Exercise, friends and family, and ice cream - not necessarily in that order!

How would you describe Undress in 3 words?
Work in progress.

Steph

How did you get into modelling?
I entered a modelling competition when I was 14 which I was fortunate enough to win.

What’s your favourite part of the job?
The travel! I love being able to travel to different countries for work and even just travelling for location shoots. You get to see parts of the world you would have never otherwise even thought to have gone.

What do you think about sustainable fashion?
I think it's a necessary path that the whole industry needs to take. Hopefully sooner rather than later! It's not just the fashion industry that is responsible. It's first and foremost up to the consumer... I'm going to take someone else's words here and say "every time you buy something you're voting". I'm pretty sure that's a quote from Food Inc. but it applies to everything really.

Where do you want your career to be in 5 years?
That's a hard question. I'm not sure where I want it to go in all honesty. I hope to be working hard in a different aspect of the industry. There's only so long you can be a model and I'd love to try something new.

Three things you can’t live without?
Just three things? The cliches I guess. Friends, family and coffee. I recently tried to go a week without coffee which I haven't done for a number of years. I managed five days and that was a long, long five days. You get spoilt in Sydney.

How would you describe Undress in 3 words?
Stylin' environmental activism!
