Second on the night’s line up we have pieces from vintage and accessory labels. The vintage labels are quirky and eclectic designs from yesteryear that will add a kick to your wardrobe. The accessories in the parade will feature unique pieces and show you quick and easy ways to lift your outfit. Who would have thought your handbag could hold decades of stories?

Vintage labels that we are featuring are:
Can You Keep A Secret?
Glory Box
Red Cross
My Grandma’s Wardrobe
Tenspeed & Brownshoes

We had a great shoot yesterday for MX and were fortunate enough to borrow some threads from Can You Keep a Secret?. Their darling little shop in Greenslopes is filled with clothes for both men and women. Here's a behind the scenes snapshot of the boys...

Accessories have been provided by:
Ties & Whimsy
SpiritFire Designs
Holloway Eyewear

Spiritfire produce jewellery and accessories that are upcycled from items that may otherwise be discarded, giving them a whole new life. Nadine, the brains behind the label, sees this as an opportunity to challenge and rethink the perception of what really is considered to be waste. She uses materials such as vinyl records, crochet doilies, keyboard keys and buttons.

Lydra are a Melbourne-based company that creates handbags from pre-loved leather jackets and upcycled upholstery fabrics. The bags have been designed by local artists and musicians, which means that contributors are able to earn commission from each garment sold. Furthermore the brand has been recognised be Ethical Clothing Australia.

The amazing designs by Ties and Whimsy will be featured on the runway with their unmistakable and unique designs. Each piece is made from a vintage tie and other bits and bobs, and is constructed in such a way that it can be deconstructed and reused in its original way.

And last but by no means least – Holloway Eyewear. These guys handcraft exquisite pieces from reclaimed timber and recycled skate decks. Please check out their website – you will be amazed!

We can’t wait for you to see these vintage and accessory labels on the night, it will be quite an eclectic parade!
